Non working free pulley supercharger 93 SSEi
Hello guys I have been reading through the posts and this is my first post.
I have a 1993 SSEi and the supercharger is not working. The previous owner put a bearing on the pulley to were its not even turning the supercharger. What next step do you guys recommend me doing? Opening up the supercharger? Buying a new one? My father told me that the nosedrive is totally messed up and missing parts....The car turns on and runs but without the supercharger going and the boost gauge is going all crazy and im guessing because of it not working....I really appreciate anything leads... thanks
I really want to build it up more performance wise and will start to learn about all the things that i can do to it but for right now want it to run mechanically sound for the meantime....

Huh, that'* a first.
I imagine the pulley shaft has been altered, so your gonna need a new nose drive, most likely. You could buy a good rebuil SC from canadiansupercharger.com or from americancharger (?) on eBay. Or buy a cheapie off eBay and rebuild it yourself with parts from rollingperformance.com
The first option will cost 400+, the second will cost 200+

You can buy just a nosedrive from canadiansupercharger. I'd suggest that assuming everything else seems ok.
How about you pull that sucker for an autopsy and we go from there?

Sorry to head off FI topic here..
Your fans could be the relay as well. Please post/search in Everything Electrical and we'll help you test and get that fixed right up.

Update
Well yesterday I switched out the broken relay and the fans kicked on. I changed out the coolant sensor also and had no problems with the fan. I still have check gauges on the car on but without the supercharger that is probably the problem. I put in a whole new window on the left side and fixed all the lights inside and out in the car and today I plan on washing it and probably waxing it. All the gauges on the car are messed up and not marking correctly. The temp goes all the way to red and then the fans turn on, and the engine is not hot so I know they are wrong. Any suggestions..? I really appreciate everything thanks.
PS I drove the car for about a mile and the car feels very heavy it is hesitating to go into second gear. I know its probably the supercharger not working. :(

The SC is not a PCM monitored component, so it won't set the light. Can you follow this:

Update 7-6-2006
I sold the car to one of my close friends and we are still in the process of fixing it up. We are still trying to align the right window we replaced :? and we spoke to Brian at CanadianSupercharger and we are basically going to send him 3 cores 1 that works of a GTP and 2 ones that dont work and get a pretty good price for a brand new one.
