Waxing your car with a porter cable
Now that your car is washed, clay barred, and polished, it'* time to get a good coat of wax. Use what ever wax you wish. Personally I like Meguiers. In this example we will be using Gold class. Personally I suggest staying away from spray wax, they simply don't last. Paste is the best but harder to use. Liquid lasts a long time and is easy to use. Remember to shake the bottle good.
If you wish to add a bit more depth to the shine, you know you do. Add in this step.
Switch to a black, or finishing pad
Switch your polisher to 2
Apply some show car glaze #7
And coat the whole car. No need to work this in, just give it a coat.
Now remove it by hand, it will feel sticky and greasy, but that'* the way it is. You wont get it all off, just remove most of it.
Now that you have most of it off, get a large terry towel and fold it in quarters, this will give you 8 clean surfaces to use. Flip often. You will want to wipe slow and with little pressure. Just move back and forth slowly. This is a oil and moving slowly will activate the oil to give a nice deep shine.
Now that you have glazed the car it'* time to apply the wax.
We will be applying the wax with the polisher set at 3
And will be using the white or polishing pad
We will be using Meguiers NXT.
Once again place a ring of wax like this.
Then dab it on to your work area.
As you come to each new dab lift up one side of the pad and place it on the dab. Don't lift the polisher off the surface when it'* running. It will splatter wax all over.
Here we have the car all waxed, be sure to open hood and trunk to get under spoiler and all seams.
Now set your polisher to 5
Now using the terry bonnet you will remove the wax.
You will need at least 2 bonnets that you can reverse. When they pack up flip or change them.
When done with that get out 4 or 5 terry towels to finish off all the seams, creases, cracks, etc. As well as wipe down the whole car.
The car is now all waxed.
Now, take your car outside to have a good look. Your car should have a deep shine and a VERY smooth surface. Now drive around and watch all the people gawking at your amazing ride. :Thumbs
