GXP Instrument Cluster Issues
I have had a GXP instrument cluster in my car all summer now but am just getting to fixing the bugs. With the GXP chip in the cluster the speedo is correct, odo is wrong(mileage of wrecked car) and there is a low-coolant light on startup. I would like to get the mileage programmed to the correct mileage(from 25k-correct 86k) and the low-coolant warning cleared out. Is this possible and if so, who can do it? My other possibility is to put the chip in from the original cluster which has no low-coolant light, the correct mileage, but the wrong speedometer reading. This really bothers me(the speedo being off) and I would like to fix it if the other method(fix GXP chip) doesn't work. I think the mileage can be reprogrammed but I am worried about the speedo reading and low-coolant light. Anyone have any ideas? I have posted about this before but I am not sure if I included the specifics of the problem and thought I would try again.
I would really really appreciate the help.

I'm not sure this is going to be very easy for you. There was a post some time back about taking a part from an original cluster and placing it in a new cluster for the purpose of transferring mileage (you should be able to do a search). This may not apply the the newer clusters because there have been changes, even though all the 2K+ appear similar in style. Dealers aren't able to do this for obvious reasons. An approved cluster repair facility can, but whether they will is a question you would need to ask them. I would personally be surprised if they would.
As for the low coolant light, this is activated by a class 2 data message. There is obviously a message being broadcast from the PCM or one of the other BCM'* that the cluster is interpreting as this warning. This is not stored in the cluster and can't be "cleared" in the manner you are hoping.

I agree, the GXP cluster does look really good. Unfortuntely, unlike the mileage, the programming for interpreting the low engine coolant will be a fundamental part of the firmware. The only way to have the cluster ignore this would be to modify the software. Personally, I'd love to find someone who could do this because there is a project I have on hold until I can solve a software issue.
