Default 96 data link connector?

Trying to program a new remote for keyless entry, I used the instructions from the techinfo. I followed the steps by using a fused wire to jump #4 and 8, but the the doors never cycled. Took a closer look at the connector and it does not have black wire and blk/white wire in those locations, but actually right next to each other. Do I possibly have a different connector and need different instructions? Of course I try connecting the two anyway but still no action. Any ideas?

It'* possible that someone moved your connector and put in in 180° around. Check it again assuming the top is the bottom. Do wires line up that way?

I've tried looking at it both ways but no results. This is what I see:

1-empty 2-empty 3-empty 4-black/white 5-black 6-empty 7-purple 8-empty
9-orange 10-green 11-empty 12-empty 13- empty 14-empty 15-empty 16-brown

Does that sound right?
