Twilight Sentinel / Dark with no Tails....
I need help, ive done searches and searches but no one seems to have the same problem as me.
I see some of you guys hate it when your lights come on too soon on your cars, but on ours the lights wont come on until about midnight. I had to drive on just headlights and no taillights after dinner last night, cops pulled me over and got a nice warning.
So lights take forever to light on, and its dark as hell outside, dark like you cant see anything, but still no tailights on.
Please help me.....

Hector.. that place where you typed "Whats a signature" please put your car'* year and model there.
Right now I have no idea which setup you have w/o knowing the year. However I'm going to guess mid 90'* and speculate that your light sensor is not making a good contact and therefore not working properly.
On the no taillight issue, check the bulbs/wiring in the back to ensure you have power back there. Only other thing I can think of is that your headlight connector/switch are melting and looking like a fire hazard.
Harofreak00 and I have both seen this problem.

Its not that the taillights dont work, its that the twilight sentinel wont turn on when it gets dark.
Sentinel controls the taillights.....right?
So when it gets dark these lights are supposed to turn on when you turn the little ring on the sentinel. But mine doesn't, it wont do it until about midnight when it is really dark. If something is wrong with the Sentinel, what would be the process to remove and replace?

Lets step back here
Put the sentinel in the dashed area and leave it there. The sentinel controls how long after you turn off the car that the headlights stay on to light your way.
You said once the lights come on around midnight they taillights do not come on with them. ??????
The automatic headlights are controlled by a photocell sensor in the dashboard (middle I think) It could be the sensor or a module that it feeds into, unless you are having larger issues and have a possible problem somewhere else.
Let'* straighten out the facts though. Tails do or don't come on when the automatic lights come on?
Tails do or don't come on if you pull the switch for the lights to be on?
If you pull the switch to the parking light selection do the parking lights come on?

Sorry for the confusion,
OK lemme try this again,
SO it gets dark outside and Im driving and the little ring on the sentinel is turned all the way to the left, which should turn on the headlights, parking lights, dash lights and taillights, right?
So i keep driving, thinking all the lights will turn on eventually, but they dont, so i pull the **** that turns on the headlights manually,
I keep driving and its really dark outside, headlights on, dash lights are out, and i get pulled over by the police, tells me i got no tailights.....i thought the taillights would turn on when you pull the **** out on the sentinel.
Now the major problem is the sentinel takes for ever to automatically turn all the lights.
I hope i explained myself good this time, please help.

Please reread what I wrote above.
The sentinel does not turn on headlights. Matter of fact...(not sure on your year) but all the way to the left on my car turns off the headlights when parked.
On the tails, you have a larger problem. It needs to be invesigated and I'd suggest looking at the headlight switch and the connector going to it for melting and or burnt connectors.
Here'* a link to Harofreaks post and also includes a link inside to my post. There have been some ugly finds. My issue was my parking lights didn't come on when I pulled the switch.

I thought that just turning the sentinel'* ring looking thing would allow your lights to turn on automatically when it gets dark. At least that is what it does, but it does it to late into the night.
Just pulling the light **** out just would be alot easier. 92 se, how should it be working?

Hector,
Please reread what has been written in response to your questions and problem. If you have more questions please ask.
However it looks like you just asked the same question many times.

Hector, please put "92 SE" in your signature.
Are you sure it'* an SE? Twilight sentinel wasn't commonly an option on an SE, and the SLE package didn't come out until 93.
If your car actually has twilight sentinel (assuming someone didn't install the wrong part in your car earlier), It should turn on your headlights and taillights when it gets dark. If photocell on your dash is BAD, it'll turn them on ALL the time. I've never seen one be over-sensitive and turn on the lights late.
Assuming your car is actually equipped with Twilight Sentinel, it sounds initially as if the headlight switch itself is faulty.
Anyone know the RPO code for twilight sentinel so we can check his codes?
