Default ECU failing?

This has me REALLY worried. The SES light comes on intermittently, and I have been noticing it comes on more often when I am going 50 or so, and accelerate, then let off the gas and it will go off. I thought okay, I just have to catch it with it on to get the codes, right? Well, I tried it with the SES light off, and I only got a code 12 [everything is working fine]. But I finally had the chance to catch it today, and all it did was flash very briefly, then turn off, and wouldn't come back on afterwards. What is up with this? I checked my FSM, and it talks about a faulty ECU!! Which is scaring me. The car acts just fine with the SES light on.. and just for information purposes, this has been happening before I lost power brakes, so I don't think the two are related.

Unless you got a special ECM, then don't worry about it goin out...20 min job and most salvage yards only want 50-60 dollars typically for used ones. Sounds almost more like the o2 sensor to me, because my SES was speed sensitive and intermitant before I changed it. That my two cent.

Good Luck

A real honest to goodness scantool will be able to pull history codes to determine the root cause of the light.
