Default 2 batteries still no power

Hi guys now i just came from the audio forum because i had some problem with my electrical items which were a 9'' dash tv, 15'' flip tv, dvd player, radio, sound modulator for the dvd plaer and an 1000 watt mtx.Mind you i just put a new battery n alternator on it 2. Now i put a 2nd battery on the car in the trunk like they said and it stoped my problem be now if i come to a hard stopp or just sittin at a light the battery gauge goes to the red in the car shuts off. I did a diagnostic-no problem. What can the be, i have 2 battery n a new alt i should be running a dam 36' house tv or fish tank or somethin man. I didnt have this problem out of my 93

Where did you ground, and connect the second battery? What CCA are the two rated for?

We need a schematic diagram of how you hooked the two batteries and alternator. You've opened a huge can of worms here.

I'd be willing to bet on not enough juice from the alternator to run all that.

Was it just a new alternater? Or a bigger one?

I think you're on the right track, John. There'* no way a stock 105 amp alternator would keep up trying to charge 2 batteries. You need an isolator between the 2nd battery and the other battery/alternator, and you need at least a 160 amp alternator. You're going to fry your 105 amp alternator if you already haven't.

its an 140 amp alt. I have the pos 2 the pos on the 2nd battery n the ground grounded 2 the side of the inside of the trunk. I went to an sound shop and they said it was hooked up the correct way. And the battery gauge stays on 14 or near it so its charging both batteries

The problem you have is at idle, right? You come to a stop, or just sitting at a light like you describe? But when you're driving, it charges fine?

Your alternator isn't keeping up at low engine speeds, bud. Time to upgrade.

Are you sure it'* a 140 amp alternator? That would not be a stock one.

if you have a mulit-meter you can measure the volts that the alt is pushing at the battery under the hood and the trunk. I wouldnt trust that gague on the IP
