HID from the Factory?
Hey guys, the other day I saw, for the second time, an 01+ Aurora with High Intensity Discharge headlights. My questions is, does anyone know if that was an option on that late Aurora? Other than the HID lights ( and the fact that both drivers of both cars were over 75) there didn't appear to be any other modifications to the cars, which makes me wonder if they came as an option. And if that was an option, is there anyway to modify the Bonneville headlights to a factory-based HID system. I had HID lights in my 2003 Maxima, and I got hooked! Thanks for your help.

I didn't think so, I guess I'll just have to make that into a special project later on down the road. Would have been sweet though.

If you wish to do it, ask about it here. If you want to have it done, let me know and either I can refer you to some known retrofitters or possibily do it myself.

HID on 00+
Well, the problem is the plastic lens covers on my headlights are pretty chipped up and have the yellowish haze. I've tried cleaning them with some Meguires plasticcleaner and it helped some, but not much. If I wanted to do it would it mean having to buy new headlights and then convert the new ones?

Yeah, I guess thats what I'd have to do. Well, I'll let you know if/when I decide to take it on. Right now I got bigger fish to fry under the hood.

well realisticly nobody I know have ever been pulled over for aftermarket headlights, and a few people I know have had the HID conversion kit in their cars. It is very easy to install and retrofit just the bulbs without projectors, even though this isnt the best way, the results are amazing even without the projectors.

All previous and the majority are still on solid mounts adjusted to DOT height.
Plurr, kits are very illegal, just because you or a friend hasn't been pulled over doesn't make them legal. And blinding other drivers with a kit in a halogen reflector housing is not respectful to anyone else on the road. and in the majority of cases output it worse than halogen.
