Default SECURITY light?!?!

Um just a quesiton... my SECURITY light on my dash has been lit for the past three days... my car still runs lmao... so I'm thinking it'* not that big of a problem but can anyone tell me what that means?! Chad has guessed at what it means, but can someone who KNOWS about it tell me?! Thanx!

soemthing wrong with the security system...probably NOT related to vats since your car still starts but a sensor is probably messed up somewhere meaning your security system does not work.

I don't know crap about the system.... but the remote battery is dying to the car. I have no idea what this means.

I believe it is typically the sensor for the trunk. Recently saw Willwren advise someone on how to test it. Off to search.

Remove the carpet under the trunk LID (if equipped). Disconnect the electrical connector in the trunk lid that goes to the cable coming from the trunk latch. See if that helps.

It'* okay to leave it unhooked? Don't want to do anything stupid to my car guys. But I'll see if it works if not I'll plug it back in.

If it works, then you know which sensor is bad. Bill says to try that one first from experience on the board. (and probably his own as well). Give it a try. It'* ok to try it.

Will do.. thanx. But I'll have Chad rip the trunk apart, so if it gets screwed I have someone else to get mad at instead of doing it myself!
