Easier Headlight Control?
There'* been several discussions about how to have control over your headlights regardless of time of day, etc. So far I have my DRL'* disabled on my 1997 SE. Some people have talked about installing switches to modify the headlight circuits, but has anyone thought about tricking the photocell/ light sensor on the driver side dash into thinking it'* always daytime? Last night I stopped the car but left it in Drive and shined a flashlight on the sensor. After about 15 seconds all the outside lights turned off - car still IN GEAR mind you. With disabled DRLs and the car thinking it'* daytime you would have NO exterior lights on the car and could have total control with the existing *****. I read something on another forum regarding an 03-04 Grand AM
Automatic Light Control bypass
1.) Remove the ambient light sensor under the dash defrost grill.
2.) Put a 10ohm resistor in place of ambient light sensor.
Would something like this work on a Bonnie? It seems simpler than cutting and running wires all over the place and it would be easier to go back to stock if need be. What do you guys think?

it has been discussed before, a search would turn it up. No one that i know of has done testing with it.

there may be a way to do it with just cutting the P,N, R switch.

It goes over an *-10 though. I wonder if the resistor would be the same Ohms though.
As another solution, I was thinking about rigging up an LED (covered so it wouldn't shine in the cabin) with a switch hidden somewhere on the side or under the dash - and trying to make it inconspicuous somehow. I think there'* a crease in the dash that a wire could be run in over to the side of the dash. Just some thoughts...

By the way... How do you remove the photocell from the dash? I have a chilton'* manual but it only covers the earlier models very well in this case. It isn't located in the defroster grill where I can just pry it up. It'* in a solid piece of plastic that runs the on the back length of the dash.
