Default Headlight Wattage

I have a 99 se and was wondering what the stock wattage was on the low and high beams. Im wondering because some of the aftermarket lights are listed as high wattage bulbs. For example the street glow 9006 bulb is rated at 80 watts, would this cause any problems with stock wiring?

It could burn up your wiring. I had 80 watt Naxos in my car for a while and didnt have any problems, but it'* better to error on the safe side.
Also with those high wattage bulbs, they heat up. Try touching your headlamp when they've been on for a few minutes.

What about mine? I KNOW mine aren't that high wattage. I always thought mine were 25watts or so.. but I could be wrong. The fogs are only like 10, they don't illuminate anything [they aren't installed, but I had them hooked up one night [zip-tied on, so they weren't installed the way I wanted].

its most likely that your lenses are not clear anymore, and reducing your light output

Justin..

Take your bulb out and you should see a model #.. then it can be reference to see what it is.. I went from 880 to 885 for my foglights and holy does it make a difference

Check out OBC for the pics I posted in general * no not a shameless plug either hee hee *

But be forwarned bout possible lens melting, crackin issue with runnin a higher wattage bulb.
