Default Turn signal Flasher

I was trying to replace this yesterday but was not able to locate it under the dash I looked at the steering column and saw one flasher held on by a side clip this happened to be the one for the emergence flashers.

I where would be one for the turn signals be located? The only thing I saw that was close was closer to the break peddle but It looks like it is longer and is bolted to another bracket.

That should be your turn signal flasher, it is shared with the hazard lights. Do the hazard lights operate normal? You may have other problems that need to be looked at.

unfortunately I did not check the emergency flashers before hand but i tested the turn signals when I replaced it and they were slow then tried the emergency lights they worked fine. I then removed the flasher and tested them both again the emergency did not come on but the turn signals worked and were still not acting right.

For the back story on the problem I knoticed that the right turn signal would take some time to start flashing when used the left was fine. After driving it for a while the right would work closer to normal for the flashing speed. Next the left started having the same problems.

All of the turn signal lights are working although I did just knotice that my 3rd brake light is out but i do not think that would cause an intermitant flashing problem.

I will also mention that this is for a 93 LeSabre

Ok I have now replaced my 3rd brake light and one of the parking lights since it did not stay on all the time they work fine now. So now I have made sure that all the lights work and I pulled the turn signal bulbs there was some dark brown grease in the socket im not sure what that is or if It is needed I did not remove it but I did wipe the lights off and put them back in. I still have had no change in correcting this problem. What should I check to try and remedy this problem?

I hope to fix it soon but I may have to wait till after christmas so I can use my FSM (it is a present) to trace all the wires for problem.
