Default Silverstars

I would like to know if anyone here with a 96-99 has had silverstars last more than a year in the high low beam placement.

IN FACT so that this thread might benefit us all, if you have silverstars, post what year your car is, wether it has DRL (or if you have disabled it) and what places you are using SS'* in and how long have they lasted.

for example

1996 SSEi
has DRL (disabled)
SS in high/low beam/foglamps
2 years

1993 SSEi (No DRL)
Silver Star low beams, 3 years old.

1995 SLE/SC (No DRL)
Silver Star low beams, 1 month old.

Keep in mind my theory that the hardware change in 1996 causes more vibration and damage to the lamps than the 92-95. However, your DRL idea may have some merit. Good topic.

Bill and Pat were saying they believe the structure on the headlights is better in the 95'* and it absorbs more shock.

We all know the fogs never changed...so how come you keep burning them out? My 95 still has the SS'* in the fogs and they are working great. Are you palming the bulbs and getting oil on them?

We've debated this a thousand times, and stated our theories. Let'* use this topic to collect user data so we might be able to narrow it down. After all, that'* what the topic author intended.

This topic is straying from it'* original intent.
