Default Charging System Issues

Wondering if anyone might have experienced this problem before. The car is a 2000 Bonneville SLE

This past weekend i was driving up north to go hunting and i noticed my volt gauge bouncing up and down between 12v and 14v. It did this for about 5 minutes and then stabilized back at 14v. I replaced the LIM gasket Monday night and when i put everything back together i had 2 messages come up on the DIC

1. Check Charging System
2. Check Volt Gauge

Now i went over every connection and nothing is popping out at me being wrong. I then took an electrical meter and measured the voltage output at the back of the alternator and it registered 14.8 volts so the alternator is charging but the car doesn't seem to recognize it ( I also measured at the battery). The car has a brand new battery in it less than 3 months old so i don't see how that could be a problem.

If anyone might now what i should check that would be great. Thank you!!

If the problem is still happening, I'd disconnect both connectors to the alternator and carefully inspect them for corrosion. Apply dielectric grease to both, and reassemble. Doing this to your battery would be a good idea also, especially if you disconnected it for the engine work.

Is there any chance you got anything on the belt that may be causing belt slip?
