Default Wiring lights for remote unlock

How do you change what lights flash when you hit the unlock from your key fob? I would like for the leds in my custom head lamps to flash like the low beams did before I bypassed DRLs.

You might be able to do something with the relay socket that is open from when you took out your DRL relay, but then the strips would only be on during the day (anytime the DRLs were on)

I don't mean put the relay back but one of the terminals where that relay was should have power when the DRLs are one and you could use that to power the strips

Any reason not to wire the LED strips into the park light circuit?

That could work too, if you don't want them to be on during the day

I want them to be able to come on by themselves, but be wired into the perimeter lighting for the key fob flash, but also have a switch so I can turn them off from inside the car if I want to. I have 2 1/2 weeks off for spring break so I have plenty of time to work on it if there'* a complicated solution.

So you want to wire it into the DRL perimiter approach lighting and have a seperate power source to turn them on? sounds possible but when you use your alternate power source there might be some feedback into the DRL circiut so I would use a relay to isolate the DRL

basically use the DRL to drive a relay that would bypass your switch, figuring it is hooked into constant power, if you go with accessory power so you don't have to worry about forgetting to turn the lights off then you would just tap constant for the relay, not sure where there would be a good accessory power since I use my afterarket headunit and a complicated system of relays to provide switched and constant power under the dash and back seat

I think I had an idea, but it involves diodes in the circuit where the keyless entry ties to the lights, and installing lead before the diode. I don't know what the feasibility is of that on the vehicle, but those with electrical knowledge will know where to go.

So this would work then right?

I don't need the DRL part of it to bypass the switch because I'll rarely ever turn them off, I just like having full control of the lights.
