Default LED'* again.

If i wanted to run 8 LED'* off of my cig lighter would i just wire up 4 in parallel in two sets? Or should i slap on a resistor. I got some 2.2k ohm resistors just incase. These will be run off a switch in me and Bonnie94sse'* cars....

As of now it'* 8 LEDs in each car, and possibly 2 more later on.

Use a resistor, You don't want to have to take apart whatever you built to change a bulb. What'* the voltage of the LED?

Can't say what it'* for. An electrical engineer on my floor said that the 2.2k ohm resistors i bought is right, but they are only 1/4 watt, he said using two 1k ohm resistors that are 1/4 watt equalling 1/2 watt would be better...

No i don't know what you posted before. It'* inside the car, running off the cig lighter. This is something that only a few people here have heard about at all, let alone seen.

Sounds like current limiters, and/or voltage drops, not sure. Two 1 k ohm 1/4 watt resistors in series will dissipate heat more efficiently than the 2k ohm 1/4 watt resistor by itself. That appears to be the rational there.
