Default Maplight illumination

I looked up at my maplight the other night (the one in the roof in front of the rearview mirror) and couldn't see the buttons....I am sure there was a courtesy backlight glowing from there at one time. Am I crazy? If I am not crazy, how do I get behind there and change the bulb, and what kind of bulb is it?
Thanks

Your crazy. Perhaps you were thinking of the fog light switch?

yes, perhaps I was. Didn't the fog light switch have an orange glowing courtesy light? even when the fog lights were off?

On mine, the LED would illuminate when the fogs were switched on. When they were off, not light.

You are sooooo wrong Peter.

When the headlights are on.. the fog switch illuminates. Then you turn them on, the illumination switches over to a fog on indicator. The illuniation led in your fog switch is burnt out.

Pull down on the front end of the map light (front being edge closest to windshield)
