Default Replacing a lead (Trunk release)

So, I have had my '92 Bonneville SE for a couple years now and ever since i got it, the trunk release on the door never worked. Today, I finally tried to fix it. Well, i fiddled with the lead under the passenger dash and got it to pop a couple of times. I now cant get it to work again. I also cut off the end of the lead and planned on putting a new end on it. Now my question is, What type of crimper or w/e should i put on the end of the lead in order for it to go into the wire harness?

You mentioned that you cut off the end of the lead, where does the end terminate? You can use the standard splice barrels with insulated sleeves then use the crimping tool that you normally see in automotive electrcal.

Yah, i kind of realise now that it was a stupid question. Im going to the hardware store and have them match it with an identical barrel. Thanks for your reply!
