Default In MAJOR Need of Electrical Advice

I started another thread cause my first one wasn't getting any attention......

Info listed up to now.......

1. Speedo would stick at various speeds when car is shut off, Then next start would begin counting from that speed then each consectutive start would begin to read from a lower speed ( Example: would shut off car and speedo would be stuck sitting there reading say 50mph. Next time would drive car and 10mph would read 60, 20 reads 70, etc. Shut car off and speedo would lower to read say 35. Go out for drive 10mph would read 45, 20 reads 55, etc. Then couple drives later would finally make it'* way back to 0 and would be fine. Did this twice now in last 6 months or so. Presently OK.

2. (THIS IS THE MAIN REASON FOR THIS POST) Driver'* door control panel not responding. No windows, door locks, mirrors, nothing. Door lock will function using key fob. Other door'* controls are fine. From reading threads here I checked battery connections. Totally clean. Took off cleaned anyway, reconnected (to "reset" electrical system) No improvement. Looked at both fuse/relay blocks all looks fine. No sign of water damage under back seat. Took driver'* side kickboard off to inspect harness and ground buss. All looks as day it came out of factory. No sign of water damage so didn't cut into harness assy to actually see ground buss but have no reason to suspect internal problem. (No sunroof BTW) Haven't checked passenger side yet. And haven't gone into driver'* side door yet where people have mentioned a module to inspect. (Most likely suspect??)

3. (And of all I read here this one might be a first) I can disengage my cruise control while driving by signaling left or right. (NO, SERIOUSLY )

Originally posted 09/18....I pulled my door interior door off today. Everything "looks" fine. No signs of water damage or wiring issues. I pulled off each connector to my door module and reseated hoping for a small miracle. No improvement getting my door locks and windows to work. Does anyone have the procedure to check this module to find out if it'* bad or the problem is up steam?? I assume i'm looking in the right direction for this fix. If not let me know of other things to look at.

Here'* a pic of the DDM:

....and does anyone know what this component is and does?? It'* behind the driver'* side kick panel. And I noticed one just like it under the driver'* side back seat.

Updated for today 09/19.......

Now today I got in there with a test light and volt meter. The main power connector to the DDM has power and ground. I have 12V waiting at my driver'* switch console for door windows. Can't get it back to the DDM connector after hitting the switches though.

What do you guys think?? Is my DDM definately shot?? What else can I try to be positive?? And if I need to buy one what'* my best option?? Junkyard?? I'm on a budget.

Thanks for any & all help............

that part screwed into the frame is a ground buss, just a spot for a bunch of grounds to hook together

usually if your DDM is shot then none of the other door controls will work, each door has its own module and they communicate through the drivers door, it acts as a gateway for the others

Thanks for the reply.

I did do some testing with the volt meter on some of the other wires at the DDM and the only other thing I thought was a little strange was that some of the other blk/wht wires (grounds) weren't making ground. I would think all ground wires should complete to ground 12/7??. Even though I looked at the harness going by the driver'* door and showed no signs of oxidation/water damage maybe I should break into it and check that ground bar anyways?? And that "ground" component you identified for me??

Seems individual ground loss would explian this since some things continue to function thru the DDM like the chime and door lock when used with the key fob??

Thanks.

It'* typically more accepted to bump the original thread instead of start another. At this point we don't know what you've been suggested previously or what has been done that you may not have mentioned. Let'* revert back to that thread.
