Default URGENT Battery dead I think

I got up this morning and tried to start my car and nothing no clicking nothing when I turn the key..I tightened up the contacts on the battery but no luck..could I have a bad battery..nothing was left on in the night to drain it. I used to get a clicking sound and if I adjusted the contacts it would start! But now not even a click...HELP!!! I have an interview today for a job and I need my car...what should I do?

Matter of fact the inside door lock mechanism doesnt even work now.

and how do I get into the back seats their is no **** to pull to open the doors.

I also notice there is a pool of looks like water under the battery, maybe acid I dont know...bad battery?: Water Leak?

Probably some water getting in through the vent, if you can jump it you might be able to get to the interview but there is no guarentee that it will start once you go to leave

hopefully you can get a battery and drop it in really quick

Could it be a bad alternator not charging the battery? I noticed the last few days it would crank for a while before it would start, so maybe a bad battery? ALso the water would not cause it to kill the battery since it is lifted up from the ground by some plastic moldings.

I have a tow truck guy coming out to replace the battery in 30 min to see if that is the problem...crosses my fingers.

If you within walking distance of a major repair shop, they may have a battery for your car.

Could that water be coming from a bad cell on the battery? Or leaking from somewhere else...it is under the battery where it sits a small pool of water. Any ideas?

Fish bowl effect. Most likely you have one of the common leak points letting some water in. Battery acid would have burned through the metal by now.

well come to find out the battery wasnt completely gone. I took it to autozone and they tested it and says it is just drained all the way. So they charged it for free. And it works like a charm, but something is shorting the battery out in my car, I believe it is my aftermarket alarm system causing the drain, or a short somewhere in the car. What do you think would be shorting out my battery draining it to empty? I need to be able to disable the aftermarket alarm. I might take it to car toys and have them look at the alarm they fixed up for me. See if their is a short.

There'* a big difference between a short draining a battery and something electrical drawing down the battery. Charge the battery up and pull the fuse for the alarm system. If the battery stays up and doesn't draw down, then that'* the problem. If the battery still draws down, you'll need to systematically pull fuses to find the draw.

Where would I find the fuse to the aftermarket alarm? It is a control module in the computer in the car. I have a 2 way remote I could take the battery out of the remote b ut the car would still have the drain. I think it is the alarm system I am almost positive...the car wasnt doing this until The alarm was hooked up again. I removed the horn fuse to help it. But I need to find the fuse for the alarm.
