Orange and gray? At the connector to the lock motor? My 1993 book says that the two wires to the LH lock motor should be one of two possible combinations, depending on whether the car has the Remote Keyless Entry option (AU0):

With Keyless Entry: Gray and Black/Light Green
Without Keyless Entry: Gray and Tan

Did those color codes get changed for 1994?

I don't think you are looking at the right connector/wires. There are plenty of orange wires in the door that will test +12v but they go to the courtesy lights and door lock switch, not motor. There is a gray wire that goes to the little illuminated rings around the lock cylinder that would also show +12v when the door is open.

The door lock actuator sits right on the latch assembly. Make sure you're testing the right wires.

Does your service manual agree with the wire colors in your car?

I can see no way that 12 volts can be at those two wires unless they were cut between the relay center and actuator and the splice in the right kick panel and actuator. Otherwise, the other actuators would not work either. I sure would like to look at that page in your manual. Can you scan and email it to me?

Um, are you asking me or telling me?

Wait a minute; let'* back up.

The color coding you're giving us indicates that the car does not have factory Keyless Entry, assuming that (1) you're giving us the color coding at the Left Front Door Lock Motor, not one of the other doors, and (2) the color coding for 1994 is the same as that for 1993, which is the manual I have.

Cars with Keyless Entry have a special Black/Light-Green wire in place of the Tan wire at the Left Front lock only, because Keyless Entry controls the driver'* door with a separate pulse from the rest of the doors (and gas filler). The driver'* door is on a separate control channel.

That'* not to say that you can't hang an aftermarket system on the car which will give you Keyless Entry, although it won't be able to zap the driver'* door lock separately; you can only Lock or Unlock everything all at once. Is that what you have?

The original-equipment Keyless Remote looks like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=7965913849

Does that match the keying transmitter you've got?

When I changed one of my doors, the wire harness was pulled through the door jamb boot and re-routed through the replacement door. If you suspect a different wire harness is used, that would mean that all the wires going into the door were cut and spliced together as there is not a "main" door connector to disconnect. Can you see a whole bunch of butt connectors in the door, jamb boot or kick panel area? Maybe the wires were connected incorrectly but I would expect other things in the door not to work as well.
