Default Lamp Monitor Issues

Okay I searched a bit and found the DIC issue with the lamp monitor
http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...t=lamp+monitor

But the wrong bulb was the culprit. Not in my case. First the DIC indicated that one of the rear tails was out. I heard of the bad connections so I removed each bulb and put it back in. All of the bulbs seemed to be good. No broken filaments. The lamp monitor went out and all was good for all but 10 minutes.

This time when it came on I had the third tail indicator too. I rechecked all of the builbs and connections to no avail. I slammed the dash a few times to see if it was the DIC and it blinked a little and still remainded the same.

Anyone else have any idea on what might be causing the DIC Lamp Monitor to stay lit even though all of my bulbs are working?

P.* Yes I checked the license plate bulbs and they light. I dont know where else to look.

Thanks!!

Is there only one? or are there two? I thought two. I didnt actually look, but when I turned my lights on and looked from the rear, it was lit.

The monitor looks for changed resistance.

Some of the possible fixes is to swap out all the bulbs on that part, check all connections visually, inspect all wiring to that area, and checking driverside floor for wetness.

I forgot about the water I'll have to check the floor for wetness and post my findings. I fixed one leak already, but with all of the rain Boston is getting, I might want to check again

Thanks for reminding me Bill!!

Default Tailight out.

Hey, once again BC has helped me solve a problem with my car. I love this place.
My lamp monitor has been telling me there'* a tailight problem for a couple of months. Checked the bulbs a couple of times and couldn't find anything. Never occured to me that the licence plate lights might be included. Sure enough one was out. New bulb...problem solved. Thanks again to everyone who helps make this such a great site. Now if I could just get my compass to stay calibrated....

Munron, we tell people in every reply to a taillight issue that those lamps are included. You should post your problems.

For your compass, how about posting it? We have some ideas already.
