i believe that the compass is supplied by a 12V HOT in RUN position only...therefore when the key is truned off the compass looses its singal and shuts off
you headlights and the dash light delay are controlled by the Twillight

The Twilight Sinetenial controls that - make sure the outer ring on the headlight switch is turned all the way to the left and that should fix it-if you turn that ring all the way to the right, your lights will stay on ~2mins once the car is turned off

While this is considered normal operation for the twilight sentinel. This is a feature that can be set to off, short to long amount of time.
Trips, you are a 95 right?
I'd suggest both of you pull on the parking lights, look over all exterior bulbs, then full headlights and look again at all bulbs.
1995 was known to have an issue with the headlight switch. Each and every 95 switch/connector I see are either melting, or showing signs of extreme heat.

92, 93, 94 all had unique switches to their year and the twilight sentinel rotated in the opposite direction from 95-99 years.
95 was a new and unique switch that likes to melt connectors and itself.
96-99 was a single switch, call it a revised 95 that won't cook itself.
