Question HUD without HUD...Q'*...

My 94 SSEi... doesnt have the HUD (Heads Up Display on the dash) setup factory... but sitting at the local J.Y. is a 94 with the HUD and grey dash just waiting to be plucked and installed... now my question is IIIFFF... IF I were to try to install it, does anyone have a writeup, installation, repair guide, or documentation of any kind in a book, or online page that would tell me what PLUG or Connector to look for, to see if I have it so I can plug in the HUD module... Id assume most if not all SSEi'* would have the connector plug in the standard wiring, but i was going to look before purchase... If I dont have the plug im not going to buy it and try to wire it once the dash is out. I dont have a book that covers the HUDs, so I need some help
thanks
TL

Dont forget, If you post pics... post as attachments hehe

You will also need the correct windshield so the image is reflected.

TL - When I had my windshield replaced last month, they asked if I had the HUD. I said yes, and then asked why...just like Dan said, there is a reflective coating on the windshield so the HUD display can be seen. There is also a price difference between a non HUD and a HUD based windshield....I did not bother to ask how much.

lol im sure, thats why i said if I have to get a windshield, im not gonna get it... I dont want to have to replace the windshield for a luxury item when i could get an intake and exhaust system for the same price

WOW This looks like a big job. When I took apart my parts car "TL" I pulled all the goods to HUD. I have the dash harness the unit itself plus windshield . Take a looksee under the trim at the back of the dash where the light sensor is and maybe you'll see the pigtail their. That would make the job way easier.

Let'* stop this silliness too...

All here that have done the swap at least once please smile
<~~~

Windshield image does not suffer like the guy who used to run this forum would tell everyone. He never tried it, never saw one, and IMHO he was quite full of brown, smelly stuff.

Is it the same perfect image, not quite. A person that isn't going from one with to one w/o will not be able to notice that it'* not perfect. And if adding to a W body, it'* the same.

You'll need the dash. That makes it easy. Swap the wiring harness from yours then add in the hud wires, run the cable for the adjuster and install into your car. Presto, all set.

doesnt have to be a perfect image... id just like it there... and if its just the dash and the wiring, i may be making a picture write-up sometime soon

worst case scenario, i have to wait a lil longer and replace the windshield... mine has a small crack at the bottom anyways... not in the way or hindering legalness but its still not a pretty perfect windshield

thanks guys
