Ok thanks for that info.

In the next couple of days I will clean the floor grounding connectors and let you know if that took care of the problem.

Talk to you soon,
TY again.

Don't want to drown you with info, but here is that common ground path (yellow circle). The "GAGES" reference ties to the other half of the diagram, where the coolant and fuel gauges are shown. If I remember right, the "S201" is the one behind the kick panel(*). And to clarify, the ground bus that willwren sent you is different than these. Need to check all of them. This * 201 and the other side are just wires, w/lug eyes on the ends, all grounded via a sheet metal screw.

I live in So FL in Fort Lauderdale ..Willwren.

I just checked both sides of the ground wires near the door panels.
Both looked great ...NO COROSSION.

Now a much more serious prob.

I just went to start the car after i finsihed looking at the grounding plates, and the car started up very very rough.
It started shaking like it couldnt idle well at all.

Then it got worse,,,and stalled out.

I tried restarting it and it wont start at all now.

I never had a problem like this with this car.
I have had it for 12 years now.

I take good care of it. It was running very strong just last night.

Great power from the take off.
Great smooth idle, and
the WIRES and PLUGS ARE always maintained by me.

The only thing that i didnt like is the other night when I popped the hood,
I hear like an AIR HISSING NOISE.

It was coming from an area where the little air hoses are, near the fuel system. One doesnt look so great. It mounts up near the firewall and wraps arouns the brake system, and comes around in a long tube going into a unit right below the master cylinder, that looks like it has linkage connected to the gas pedal.

Help...

Turn the key to run a few times then check the schrader valve on the fuel rail for fuel. If the fuel doesn't spray out then recheck the driver'* side ground bus. The fuel pump grounds there.

If those vacuum lines are leaking that bad, it will definitely make it run/idle poorly. It is sucking air into the manifold, downstream from the throttle body. So need to get the leaks stopped. Parts stores sell it by the foot or small roll (cheap). There are at least a couple of different sizes, so take the car or a sample to save a trip and your money. Just take off one piece at a time and replace so you don't get them mixed up.

Default Re: Air hose

Thanks for the air hose info.
I know how to buy them, have done it before.

I asked someone today what the hose that looks bad goes to and they said it goes to the vacumn that controls the A/C unit that distributes the air either the floor or vents, etc.

Don't think that could be affecting the firing could it?

If that one hose is the only one (is routed over to near the driver side hood hinge) probably would not affect it as much as you are experiencing. I had that one mess up my AC where it would only dump out the bottom, heater vents. But if something is so bad that you can hear a hissing, and if it IS vacuum, well yes, that would likely be enough. It will take figuring out exactly where that hissing is coming from.

Thanks - I will check all the vacumn hoses tomorrow and replace them all tomorrow if I find someone can take me to the store.

I think that the air hoses are the easiest way to start to trace this problem.

After that I dont know where to go next.
I would think that gas = fuel distribution would be next.
