Lets talk hardwiring a radar detector
So I thought the plug in the headliner storage box was a good idea, but then I started thinking. Well, since I have an SE, why don't I use the sunroof power?
It would be possible to run to the JY, get the other part of the sunroof plug. Then strip the ends of those wires and then strip the end of the radar plug wires. Sodder those up, plug it in, and put in a fuse. Would that work. I don't see why not but I'm curious before I do it.
And this would be on the 98 SE if thats needed at all....

If I were you I would just run it up under the headliner and down the A-Pillar to the fuse box. That'* waht I did on both my cars. Then go to your parts store, get this:
http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=071-580
Pick a switched source (I picked radio fuse) so it comes on automatically with Ignition. And presto.
If you're set on using sunroof power more power to you, I'm just not any help there. Simply providing an alternative option.
