DIC sez: Everything is wrong
I've recently been having some issues with my Driver Information Centre. I suspect its loose wiring, or worst case scenario, the PCM is fried.
When I start the car, the gages sweep and the DIC fully illuminates, the ODO and TRIP counter read solid 8'*, the warning lights then do not go off, the HUD reads all possible options, Fuel low, Check gages etc, however the speed reads correctly, as do the turn signals.
The DIC then does not reset, all the warning lights stay on and the warning tone constantly dings. Evantually it goes off, but its becoming more regular now, and malfunctioning for longer times.
If its wiring, something is probably loose, where can I find the loose wire for the fix? Do I need to pull the dash? or do I need a new PCM/ECM

I think your PCM is fine... But the DIC module may be dead or going out...

Thanks Don, does that mean new dash panel? Or can I pull the dash and replace a Plug and Play DIC module?
heh, my 89 was NOTHING like this 94 SSEi.

I'm wondering at this point if it'* the DIC itself or a remote module. I'll have to check my FSM'* to see what'* what. I think your 94 should be very similar to a 95, but couldn't be much different if at all to the 93, either. I have 93 and 95 FSM'*. I'll do some digging this weekend if I have time in both sets of manuals and see if I can get us started on this.

Jim..Welcome to the world of 94-95 SSEi'*.
I think all the below fall into the list of things to check before condeming the cluster.
Cluster wire harness connections
Water under driver front carpet.
Ground wire behind the emergency brake pedal area.

If you have time to look into the FSM that would be great.
As for the checklist.
1. Where can I find the cluster harness?
2. Water could be possible, however there is no indication of water damage or musty smells.
3. There was some work done to my e-brake system in order to get the car certified. I'll take a look underneath.

Jim when my DIC was acting up, all i did was remove the cluster, take it apart and simply clean all visible connections, not a single hiccup since.
Wasn't to hard of a job either, suprised me
