WIndow failure and starting noise
I have two problems. First, the passenger windows, front and back, stopped working. You can hear the click when trying to use them but no action.
My mechanic friend was trying to help (no luck yet) when the battery ran out of juice. He jump started the car with a portabe device. I was fairly sure he grounded properly - he is a mechanic, though he was a bit surprised to hear that the battery was in the back seat after he asked me to connect the cables to the battery terminal. There was a spark I think, and now, when I start the car I get a staticy, hissing sound coming from the instrument cluster when starting. It lasts for about 10 seconds until the dials have stopped moving. And then I get the sound when I shut off the car. I'm worried. I asked, cautiously, if maybe something happened when we jump started the car. My friend wasn't sure, didn't think so, but now I've got two problems, clearly. Does anyone know what happened? This doesn't feel good.
Thanks

What year and trim level is your car?
And if you don't mind, could you put that information in your signature?
