EEC reset
Hi, guys:
My EEC display has three little dashes instead of numbers, letters, etc. I believe the fan is on, as it'* supposed to be, but...
It'* below zero most days when I get out to go to work, maybe makes it into the teens through the day, so I DON'T want to go out and get into it now. I'm too old for that goofy kind of shinola. I haven't seen this exact problem posted before, so I'll put it out and see what comes of it.
I have, as most do, a battery drain. If I drove the car Friday, it would be dead when I went out to go to work Monday, so I got into the habit of putting the charger on if I wasn't going to drive it over the weekend. I checked the ground buss and cleaned the connector- no noticeable help. I've D/C'ed the power antenna and the air compressor. I don't think the ALC was working anyway. I couldn't tell any difference for the last few years, so....
The interior lights stayed on, so I pulled the fuse. Yeah, no mirror adjustment, but since I'm the only one who drove the Bonnie, it didn't matter much. Someone posted here that D/C'ing the negative terminal for a few minutes might make the system reset, so I'll try to take care of that on my way to the store. Maybe, just maybe, I'll remember to put it back on when I get home.
Back to the real reason for the post-it'* really cold out, and I need my defroster to work so I can drive to work. I can bundle up and handle the cold, but I have to be able to see. I won't drive if I can't see. A friend of my oldest daughter was T-boned by a dump truck leaving her driveway a few years ago. Beautiful talented girl, dead at seventeen because she was in a hurry to get somewhere. Not the destination she had in mind, but there'* a higher authority who decides where we end up, right?

During one of those battery resets, your ECC saw a problem with the system somewhere.
Most likely it is an air mix actuator although you need to diagnose it by pulling the glovebox and watching the arm.
Please search on ECC and things like air mix actuator.
