Default False signals in BCM dash display- chronic

I did a brief search on this and got no matches. I would appreciate knowing whether anyone else has had the following problem. When this car, a '99, purchased new in 5/99, was about 4months old it started having false signals going off on the dash Body Control Module display (referred to in manual and on the dash as "Driver Info" or something to that effect.) It would indicate the hood, trunk or a door was open, low coolant (finally unplugged that sensor), low windshield washer solution, etc., when actually all was OK.
It even got to where the chime sounded, but nothing was shown on the display.

We took it to local dealer (not where we bought it) several times and got the story of "can't do anything unless we see it happening", and of course they wouldn't even write it up so we would have a record of the complaint under warranty. A guy even accused my wife of bringing it there for her enjoyment. It did have numerous other quality problems, such as interior trim falling off, some of which i have had to fix myself by gluing, but leaving her new $33K non-smoker B'ville there so she could drive the usual smoked-up, pop and cheese burger soaked loaner Sunbird was not what she wanted to do. Anyway, we also took it to the dealer where we bought it, 135 mi. away, where a service writer said it was just a fuse, put a fuse in somewhere (at least my wife thinks he did), and it was better for a while. It started again not long after, then eventually went maybe 5-6 months without any "false alarms". Now, for at least the last nine months it has had message on the screen about the "lamp monitor" saying there is a problem with the brake light, which there is not.
When the car was still in warranty and was doing this, I even called the Pontiac hot line no. in the manual, twice, and the only thing that happened was we got two letters back that are so non-commital and vague it is basically nothing but an insult. The letters said nothing about what the reason was that I called.

I have no doubt Pontiac and GM should have replaced the BCM or otherwise fixed the problem when the car was under warranty and we kept coming back with the same kind of problem. Recently i have gone back to the local dealer, now with all different personnel but same ownership, and the very new service mgr. listened to me and said he would try to talk with someone at GM about helping with the problem, or find out if there is any indication this is not an isolated vehicle with the problem. He said if he couldn't get anybody at GM to talk with him about it that maybe one of his up-line dealership guys could get someone to talk with them. I have not heard from them yet, though it has only been a week. We would appreciate any info. about similar or same problems, esp. in a '99model near the end of the production run. Thanks -
