carpet is up
carpet is up and all I see is the tube-o-wires running along the door. Looks like it runs right into the back seat area. Everything looks neatly wrapped in E-tape, what should I be looking at?

OK, so this is what you see when you pull the carpet.
You need to unwrap the connector and take it apart. Then scrub any corrosion off of both sides, put dielectric grease on it, and re-assemble. Then re-wrap it all in a clean nice package. Done.
If you got real wet last summer, corrosion could have been slowly creating this issue. At the very least, you need to eliminate this as a potential cause. Remember that corrosion can and does occur underneath nice neat covers all the time.

Yep, that'* the one. Well if those are spotless then we need to dig a bit deeper and figure out what the next step is. I don't know if there is anyone here who has had a guage cluster go bad on them.

I honestly don't know.
We really don't have any other gearheads on here at the moment and especially the few that have more electrical knowledge than I. I'm trying to scare one of them up now. I sure don't want to send you off on a wild goose chase. Our intent is to help members, not cause extra work for them.

thanks
The only other help I can give is that when I put my car in drive and accelerate, my gauges will start up like the car just got turned on, but the second i take any pressure off the gas it will die. So basically I can REV my gauges while I'm driving. If that helps?? lol
