Default Sunroof problems. Need help!!

What would cause my sunroof to completely stop functioning? I cant open nor close it. I get absolutely nothing. Is there a fuse in the fuse box thats underneath the back seats I can check? FIY: I did install an aftermarket HU this past weekend but I cant believe that has anything to do with it. Please help b/c I need my sunroof!

I would first suspect the install, did you put dynomat on the celling? Will it open up manually, the instructions are in the car manual?
Check the fuses and connections all the regular stuff. The motor is wired down the drivers side to the rear fuse box.

The only place we put dynamat was the trunk. I checked the rear fuse box but couldnt find the fuse to the sunroof. How do you open it manually? All I have is the one button that you either push forward or backwards. This definately has me stumped!

Supply power to operate the sunroof drive motor comes from the RAP relay located rear fuse block - fuse 22 (20A). The RIM provides ground to pick up the RAP relay. there is also a limit switch up in the drive motor assembly that could be out of kilter. You have to partially remove headliner above rear window to gain access to drive motor & sunroof control module. And to manually open, close sunroof.

Thanks for the info markwb. I will go out in a bit to see if that relay is loose or something. I'm hoping thats the case or maybe I just need a new one. I really dont want to take the car back to the dealer.

Well I checked fuse 22 and its not blown. I was able to slightly lower the headliner and was able to see the sunroof motor. What all can I check up there to see if its working properly or if it needs replaced? Any other ideas on what might be wrong?

If you can gain access to the sunroof control switch, check the connector firmly secured to the sw. module. The other thing you could do while there, is disconnect the sunroof switch, place a jumper between pins 2 & 5 on the connector (pins are 1 thru 6, right to left when looking at connector with lock device on top) check to see if sunroof opens. (ignition must be on) If you haven't done so already, check the connectors up on the motor, and control module that they are made up correctly. Have you tried to operate the sunroof manually like PDad suggested? That should actually be the first check on the list to verify that the sunroof is not mechanically bound up.

I havent tried opening the sunroof manually yet. Its been kinda chilly up here in northwest Ohio lately. As soon it gets warmer, I will. I have the service manual from helminc.com so I know how to take the headliner off. It sounds like a pain.

The sunroof can be operated manually by simultaneously depressing and turning the center slot in the sunroof motor drive gear with a large straight-bladed screwdriver. The rear portion of the headliner will need to be lowered in order to access the sunroof motor and perform this procedure.
