Default What brand of battery?

i tried the search function so im sorry if theres already 424324 topics just like this one but im kind of in a hurry. I drive a 1994 Bonneville SE. The battery has been bad for awhile and my mechanic has recommended that i change it. I'm looking for something with side and top mounts (for my power cable that goes to my amp) and am not sure which brands are good. I'm not looking to get an Optima red or anything like that, I just need a pretty good battery.

Thanks alot.

Sears makes a good battery, as does Interstate. I'm sure others will chime in....

Yeah, you are going to want to get something with a high CCA rating. At least 700 CCA with out power hungry cars, especially since you have an aftermarket audio system. You may want to look into an Optima Red Top. They aren't the cheapest batteries, but they are worth it. They are bullet proof.. and last forever.

duralast gold baby. haha this bad boy puts out 1000 cca and you can get these at autozone. i have noticed on most top and side mounts you dont have as much cca so i went with the duralast cuz of the high cca and if you get at autozone you can have the life time warrenty. its a nice battery.

If that is true about lower cca values for batteries with top and side mounts i may be interested in avoiding them. Roughly how much does an optima red top cost at autozone?

I have an Optima red top and it is awesome. I think it was around $110 or so, but I don't remember because my dad bought it for his GTP then gave it to me when he switched to a race battery. I've never heard anything bad about them.

My red top was $109, starts beautifully everytime. Top and side post.

For the record CCA is cold cranking amps, Normal amps are what you want for audio systems really, the battery will warm up.
