Default Big problem with my bonnie I dont want it to cost me my job!

Well I have the twilight sentinel in my 1995 bonnie and I have a big problem after the lights are out and the keys are out of the ignition the car will beep like the lights are on when I open my car door I have had to jump my car 7 times in the last month cause of a dead battery in the morning and I start my job in like 6 days so I need to fix this cause I used to beable to fiddle the light switch around a bit and get it to go off but latly it can take 15+ mins to do this that I dont have time for and it will go off but like a couple hours later it can go offf beeping again is there a fuse or something I can disconnect to get this to stop its killing my brand new battery way to much....... Please help I cant afford to b late ne days at my new job I am getting I owe way to much money to miss 1 day.... Thanks Btw my uncle had the same problem when he bought it with 50k miles but it has gotten worse in time....

Please post these problems in the correct forum. General chat is not for electrical or mechanical problems.

I'm moving this to Everything Electrical and Electronic for you.

I'm having a hard time understanding what your problem actually is from your description. What makes you think it'* a twilight sentinel problem if your lights aren't staying on?

Ok.. here'* what you need to do to check out this problem.

Go pull the trip piece that covers it. (3 screws above gauges) and pop the know off the light switch by pushing the clip behind the ****.

3 screws then take the switch out. Pull it forward and out. Take the connector off. Look for any brown marks on the switch by the connectors and look at the connector on the car for any melting of the plastic. Let us know the results .. I hope it'* fine and you only need a new switch. Either way it'* not horrible.

if all else fails, just pull the fuse for the headlights

PS. sounds like maybe a bad headlight switch to me..

thats not the thing the car beeps u know like if u leave the lights on and open the door the warning beeping it goes on when I open the door when everything is off and good its gota be like a short inside the lighting switch cause i used to beable to wiggle it around and get it to go off so once the car door shuts the interior lights do go off and the beeping stops but the car thinks the lights are on and something with that drains the battery......

Interim solution, disconnect the battery when you are done driving for the night. That way, you will at least have a live car the next morning for work.

I know it'* a PITA, but at least your job won't be at risk.

If it'* merely the switch...your parts places can have one next day for about $25. If it'* the wiring it should be fixed asap and then it won't be a fire hazard.
