I would say that I am about 95% sure that the rear ending is the reason for it not to work.... when I got rear ended my trunk was a PITA to open and to close (wouldn't latch shut). The guy doing the estimate gave me this long explination why it would be the accident that caused the trunk to malfunction.

Of course it was 2 months after I get rear-ended that the trunk stopped working... delayed reaction? hehe
