Do you have a Voltmeter in your car? How old is the alternator. Sounds like a bad battery to me if you can't retain power when the car'* off. Change it quick, it'll drag down your alternator to the same level quickly, by pulling too much to charge the bad battery.

it can also cause some wacky tranny problems if the voltage is jumping around (but more likely when it drops below a certain level). not quite sure what the level is with a 4T6x, but a new battery should nicely take care of your problems.

It sounds like bad connections at the battery or a bad battery. If you think the battery is fine you may want to try scrubbing all of the battery terminals and the wires that go to it. Also scrub in-between the two red wires. Use a wire brush.

Dipping the brush in a solution of baking soda and water can also help -- it neutralizes the acid in the corrosion and (sometimes) makes it a little easier to get off.

How old is your battery? It might be just fine.

Yes, with the Bonne it'* more likely that your _alternator_ is on its last legs, not your battery. Don't spend the money on a new battery until you have it tested, and a bench-test of your alternator wouldn't be a bad idea, either.
