Default Fuel Tank Door Lock and Trunk Release 2002 Bonneville

The trunk release button in the glovebox no longer works to open the trunk and when I press the lock or unlock buttons on the remote or in the car the fuel door doesn't lock or unlock anymore. The trunk button on the remote no longer works either. I've checked all fuses and relays under the hood and under the back seat. Any ideas? Both happened at the same time. It'* an '02 Bonneville SE. Please advise.

Duke, Welcome to the club first of all. Double check fuse #26 (Body) (15A) not blown in the rear fuse block. Otherwise there are many other potential problems that could exist.

Well let me say thank you for your reply. I checked the body fuse and it was ok but I checked one other fuse labeled ALDL and it was a 10amp and was blown. I replaced it and the trunk now pops and the fuel door works too. Now if only I could figure out what is wrong with my heated seats. They worked fine up until a couple of days ago when both stopped working. If I turn them on I hear the relay click under each seat and they stay on for about 3 seconds and go off. I can't imagine that both heat elements went out at the exact same time. This is the 4th generation of Bonneville I've owned and by far the most difficult electrically.

Alright, good deal. I overlooked the ALDL fuse, it supplies power to operate the relays for the fuel door lock & release. But anyway, I don't see a connection between the ALDL fuse and the trunk release so I'm not sure what went on there. For the heated seats, do the high & low led indicators illuminate? What is the temperature of the interior? And finally, are there any other major loads turned on when this occurs?

Both LED'* illuminate and the vehicle is within normal temperatures, I think it got into the low 50'* the other night when I tried to turn them on and noticed an issue. Both seats do the exact same thing all of a sudden. There is no excessive load that I can think of. I usually have the radio on but that'* it, no heat or A/C, no wipers. I was driving and I kept pressing the button and the drivers side stayed on for a little while but the passenger side wouldn't work and when I started messing with the passenger side the drivers side kicked off suddenly. I just think that there must be some type of relay that is shot or a ground wire or something.
