T/C button as neon switch help
I bought a traction control switch at the junkyard with the intention of wiring it up to my neons. The neon transformer only draws a maximum of 0.5 amps. My problem is that the switch is momentary. I read on howstuffworks.com that a bistable flip-flop relay driver uses momentary current to switch a relay on or off. is this what i need?
fuddy said in another thread that the T/C switch is SPST. what does that mean? i can't find a definition
i'm in a little over my head

Yeah, that'* a momentary single pole, single throw, which means it'* a simple momentary switch. As for the electronics part, hopefully someone else can help design that.

this is cool...i popped the cover on my console and there was the wiring harness for the T/C button, so i plugged it in and it lit up with the dash lights. Awesome! The led light in the button stayed on all the time tho.

I am thinking of using the dual power seat switches from the center console of an SSEi. I plan to re-paint them to a solid grey. Then using them. I am going to have to use relays for all of the switches, because they are momentary as well. I am also thinking of the posibility of using the switch case, but changing the switches inside, so it will still have that stock look.
I will post the wire diagram when I am complete. You can wire your foglights the same way.
if that helps.....

i found a diagram to build a bistable flip flop relay driver and am currently locating all the parts.
I thought of a real easy fix though. If i hook up to a power source that is switched with the ignition, i can use the momentary switch to trigger the coil and then use the current from the relay to keep the coil energized. However the only way to shut them off would be to shut the car off. So i'm gonna keep workin on this flip/flop.
