Default Chasing some lil electical Gremlins... interior lights ++

okay... 86 Delta88 Royal Brougham

my interior lights will not shut off... (have fuse pulled for now) .. I've tried the dash switch, the individual switchs on all the lights (2 front map and 2 rear reading) .. all doors closed.. in gear.. nadda all still on... normally I would think this is a pin switch for the doors but the reminder for open doors isn't yelling at me when it'* in gear

I beleive the car has illulimated entry option if that helps(anyone know if/which RPO code it would be?)

up till now it'* just been a minor nussance I've been trying to track down in my spare time... but my drivers door is now FUBAR'd shut in the process.. so it'* personal

the other gremiln I have to chase outta the car is the my cruise, int wiper/washer doesn't work.. . but low and high and the turn signals from the stalk work fine... I've been told GM used a pretty flimsy wire in there and sometimes over time it just breaks connection... or would someone think it'* a better chance of being a break in the wire in the column somewhere???

I do know my way around cars pretty well.. just not this one (worked in toyota service shop .. but now I'm broke and looking for another job .. )

I wanna get this lil problems sorted out.. gonna try and sell the car .. if I can't get my min asking price then I'll keep it and put some work into it performance and looks wise

BTW pics of the car are on my WWW link (haven't detailed it yet.. so it'* a lil dirty) only problems are these 2 elec problems and it needs a tune up... burns no oil... anyone thing 2200 canadian is asking too much?

Dunno, but look in TechInfo for the listings there. (Yours _may_ have a different RPO since it'* an older car from a different division, but the more-common RPO codes are indeed shared across divisions.)

I would also look at the wiring going to each light. All you need is one ground wire touching the body and your lights will come on.

Yes, there'* a light-gauge wiring harness going to the cruise/wiper switches in the turn-signal stalk, and I've seen it break its wiring inside the insulation where it jumps the gap from the steering column to the back of the turn-signal lever. If that'* where the problem is on yours, you'll need to thread a new one in there: pull the wheel, remove the lock plate, etc.
