Headlights, windows, gagues gone awry
From time to time, my car shows very strange things. The gagues read that the front lights aren't working, a turn signal doesn't work, and the HUD shows that I have my left turn signal and my brights on.
When this happens, my driver'* side headlight dims by about 50%, as do both fog lights, but the right headlight stays normal. Flipping the fog lamp switch on and off does nothing because the fog lights stay on regardless.
Sometimes, but rarely, my car during daylight will show me on the HUD only that the left turn signal is blinking, and at the same time, a clicking noise comes from under the dash on the passenger side. The turn signal blinking, though it doesn't happen outside, increases its rate as I accelerate, but the moment I let go of the gas pedal, it stops.
During night driving, if I experience the all-lights-half-on thing, I can pull out the head lamp control for the parking lights & fog lights, and a buzzing noise comes from the same below-dash passenger side area. Pushing this in all the way or pulling it out all the way makes the buzzing stop.
I have been fixing my suspension, so I haven't been driving the car much, and I have done nothing to see what'* causing this. I'm going to go through my wiring to see that no wires are melted/touching, and then I'll see if there'* anything new that comes up.

Singscountry had some odd behavior right before her battery change. I dont recall if it continued after swapping. And Archon has found some oddities remedied by enhancing the main ground from the battery.

OK, I'm confused. So, I'm old and it doesn't take much, but is this on something other than your '94? Is Boosty aware of some other vehicle that you may be having problems with, although you speaking of pulling out the headlight switch sounds like a 92-99 series.

Yes. They seem good. I got a new screw for the battery, and it seems to hold better. I'm thinking of getting a new battery now, though.

I'm not sure I can understand why GM made it so that the fog light switch doesn't actually switch on/off the fog lights. It seems that the switch lets something else know to turn on/off the lights, and it'* just an interface. There'* no point to this. Nothing but amps. Do those lights need that much? Perhaps a 10A fuse or something would be fine, but this is just weird.
There'* no way to shut off the lights, and I've found that even the radiator fans run at about half speed. The car idles at a finely toasty 250F. Even if it were the battery cable(*), would either one acting up but the other not cause 1 out of 2 headlights not to function, the fog lamps to be at 50%, and the fans not to work? I'm not at all able to understand what happened. I haven't had a car all this time, and college starts on the 27th. What do I do? I can't drive it like this.

I brought a friend over, and we messed with every wire we could find. Seems not to be the battery cables. Actually, it seems there'* a break in a wire in the area for the windshield washer fluid container pump. That'* about it. We jiggled the wires, and the headlight started shutting off. When it returned to full brightness, we traced the wire, and now things seem fine. There'* a broken 12V line, it seems. However, the windshield washer fluid doesn't spray, and I'm experiencing a misfire. Strange, isn't it?
