sounds like a good deal, it'* 100% new, what do you think?
ALSO, does the alternator have to be year/model specific? or must to come from a 1998 Pontiac Bonneville only?

Says it'll fix. The picture doesn't look like my 97'* alternator. However they were changing a few things over the years. (somehow..I don't remember it looking like that)
What brand? Warranty? I can buy a rebuilt alternator at Advance or Autozone with a warranty for around that same price or a little less. A warranty is a nice thing to have.

That alternator will work fine for you. His listing is deceiving. It'll work on all L36s. Not sure why he said it'* for 96-98 only.
How many amps does your current alternator put out? The replacement will need to deliver just as many amps, if not more.

Technically for me Advance is the closest...but if Napa had a better warranty, I'd be willing to cross the road to go to Napa. Heck.. if Autozone was better (which my experience says not) I would drive the whole block up to their door.
The basis of the above dribble is ... if you can price one with a warranty close enough, it'* worth an extra couple bucks.
Oh..and don't forget. Napa gives a healthy discount for AAA members.

well it'* a good thingi didn't buy a new alternator. It ended up being the tensioner pulley fell off and the bearing seized. Had to get it towed. All fixed now though!
