Default Visor Mirror Lights...

Does anyone else notice that the visor lights tend to flicker a lot? I didn't notice it at first, but mine tend to flicker and go back and forth between bright and dim a great deal. I'm not really worried about it persay, I'm just curious if it indicates some kind of pending electrical trouble. Thanks guys.

Well, you know what they say ..."they don't make 'em like they use to."

Visor lights or map lights?

Seems odd you'd have your visors open and staring at your self that much.

Not having visor lights, I can't speak to the experience, but it would seem to me that any incandescent lamp should not flicker unless there is a wiring/power or connection/contact problem somewhere.

Your problem is probably the dimmer. It'* a variable resistor. It'll take some work, but cleaning them out with contact cleaner or De-Ox-It may help.

The theater lighting may look a little flickery.. but that wouldn't effect visors.. which is the reason I'm asking for more detail.

The visor adjustment if left alone should definately not give you any flicker.

Remember the crackling audio in the old **** car stereo days? Same principle. Dirty potentiometer.

we need to know exactly which lighting he is talking about, it sounds to me like he is talking about the vanity lights which are not on a potentiometer as far as i know of

The lights I'm talking about are the ones located on either side of the mirror in the sun visor. As far as I know, they do not dim in response to the dimmer control for the dash lighting. They simply have two settings, off and on. While the car is on and in park when you fold down the visor and open the mirror cover the lights come on and flicker a lot. None of the other lights flicker in this way. While in drive the flickering happens with less intensity. ...I hate to be thought of as "vain ," but I was just curious if anyone else has this problem on 00+ Bonnevilles. Incidentily it was my mother who noticed this problem.
