There are three functions that bug me about the '93.

1) I'd like the auto headlamps to come on sooner. Like at dusk or a very overcast and rainy day. I could probably go to a tint shop and ask them for an assortment of film scraps to put over the sensor but I was thinking of adding a resistor to the sensor'* wire instead. Any idea what value resistor should be used?

2) TCC lock-up. At times, I would like to override this. The ECM has a brake input that disengages the clutch when the brake is pressed. If I wired a switch that provided +12v to this ECM wire, would it have any negative effects? How about wiring a switch to interrupt the wire going to the trans?

3) TFE steering. I actually only like this feature when I'm in Speed Racer mode. Otherwise, I'd like to turn it off. The ECM controls this function so the question is will interrupting the wire from the ECM to the pump harm anything or produce any negative effects?

1) I don't see any resistor specs in the book, Maybe start with 1K and work your way down? (8A-101-0)

2)Since the TCC brake switch is normally closed, Cutting CKT 420 PPL at Pin A of the tranny seems your best bet. When this circuit is open there is no power for the TCC solenoid. Cutting CKT 422 TAN/BLK at Pin D of the tranny would not allow the TCC solenoid to ground. You may cause a DTC 38 or 39, Tread lightly. (6E3-C8-10)

3) Personally, I would interupt the PNK/BLK wire at the TFE steering solenoid to cut power. Simulating a blown fuse seems safest. (8A-45-0)

There is some great information in that noggin of yours, Dame. Thanks for pointing out the normally closed switch. Actually, that will make it a little easier to install.

TFE steering is Two Flow Electronic steering. Once the vehicle travels over 20 MPH (it seems) the flow of the power steering fluid is decreased resulting in a firmer wheel.
