1995 SSE HUD not working
Hello,
I just bought my 1995 SSE on friday and am trying to get it all back in shape. The owner'* manual says that to start with if the HUD is not working check the fuse, but no where in the book does it tell me which fuse to look for...
So if anyone would be so kind as to tell me which number fuse it is so I can first check the fuse It would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Antonio,

I assume you checked the dimmer and adjustment first?
Most of the various fuses are listed on the fuse panel cover above the drivers left foot fuse box. Give that a try and holler back if it'* not on there.

Yup, I moved the dimmer switch around and the adjustment switch around and nothing showed up on the windshield.
I took it into the dealer this morning to get a new remote for the keyless entry and they checked the fuse for it and said that it'* fine so I guess something more major must be wrong with the HUD...

well I found today the the HUD does work but just like pontiac_ange777 the mirror on my HUD barely moves and the image is too low.
So does anyone know how to get at the mirror to try to possibly lubricate the moving mechanisim in order to get the mirror to move properly?
Is the height adjust switch all mechanical? If I could get behind the front bezzel to the switch would I be able to push it more to get the mirror to move up some more?
Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

Does a person have to take apart the whole dash in order to get to the HUD?
I ask because I found the cable, however, when I push down on the adjust button it pulls the cable down and towards the driver, which makes the mirror push the image further down and out of sight... and when I push up on the adjust button it appears to just relax the cable, but it doesn't relax it enough to actually adjust the mirror to where I can see the display on the windshield.
So I'm thinking that if I can get to the HUD it'* self I could manually move the mirror to the correct position and then put everything back together... but I have no idea if that would work since I've never taken apart the dash before and I've never seen the HUD out of the car in order to know if I can get into it to manually adjust the mirror by hand...
any details would be a great help to me,
thanks
