alright, so I, like some people here on the forums, am experiencing the dim lights, ecc, radio, etc when I apply the brakes, turn on the rear defroster. The battery gauge usually sits at 13 or so, every once in a while it'll shoot up to 18 ( i dunno why ) and sometimes when I'm sitting in traffic I'll notice that my turn signal is slow, then I look at the battery guage and it'* at 10 ... so yeah, I think I need a new alternator ( mine is starting to squeak anyways ) but I want a 140 amp alt. I'm tired of the dim lights scenario and want to provide my bonneville with the power it needs and enough amps to power a small town. Does anybody know where to get a 140 amp alternator for a 93 sse? Prices? Part number? Thanks guys

yup I have one for my SLE. Go to the nearest Advance, they have AC Delco units with a lifetime warrenty. Tell them you have a SSE non supercharged......WITH HEATED WINDSHIELD you must tell them heated windshield because that is how it is listed in the book. I believe that the price is 140.00 with a 65.00 core

That'* strange, my alt is pretty weak.. sometimes it'll charge better than other times, but I have never had problems with lights dimming. Sounds more like your battery is weak, too. Also Domestic Performance has a 140, 160, and 200 amp alt. Although, I don't know how long it will take for you to recieve it. If you just have the stock components, 140 is perfect, but if you have some aftermarket audio equipment, it might be wise to pick up a 160/200 amp unit.

alot have Optima RED tops but they are expensive, I have a Everstart from walmart (4 year free replacement) in my car it is 1000 CCA it is the largest battery that i could find
