03 bonneville heater blower.
Hello to all and thanks ahead of time for help. The blower motor doesnt seem to be blowing as hard as usual and trying to determine the cause.I pulled the motor down and got rid of a bit of debris such as leaves and such. The blower works intermittantly and when it does it dont seem to have the blowing power it once had.I also noticed that when the air is on and it is blowing when I gas it ,you can hear as well as feel the reduction of air.Is the blower going out?Or is the problem elsewhere? Please help.Thanks.The debris I did get out was a result of turning it on one day and it being loud and vibrated the whole car.

Mine did the same thing. It sounds like the blower motor is just old, tired and wearing out. Rockauto has them fairly cheap and they are easy to install. I have a write up in the tech section.

blower motor
Thanks again. Would acceleration make it slow up on the air output if it was going bad?Thats the part that has me puzzled.

The brushes are probably worn down and not making the best contact anymore, so when your alternator is putting out more voltage by being revved up it'* giving the motor a little boost.
Do you notice anything else electric not giving all until you rev up?

Decided to pull the blower motor apart and inspect before biting the bullet and buying a new motor. It was packed with dust and crap.Sprayed some dieelectric spray into it and blew it out with air.Lightly lubricated and put back together.Works perfectly.I know this isnt a long term fix,but any fix is a good one for now. Thanks for the help.
