Default Aluminum gauge bezel

Has anyone installed one of those aluminum gauge bezels? I was looking at them of ebay. How hard is it to seperate the lens cover on the gauges?

I Keep Wanting To Buy 1 Of Those Too. Although Lateley I Havve Been Thinking That It May Be Just A Gimick, That A White Colored Dash Is Only Different In Color, No Biggie. I Tool The Dash Off Of My 64 ******* And It Never Was The Same Again. So Be Very Certain Of What You Are Doing.

Aluminum bezels are for cars that have them stock because the dashboard is just built like that. You'd just be adding rice, and if you really could get the dash off and put on the aluminum bezel, I think it wouldn't be worth your time for all that you have to do to take it apart and put it back together just for the cover. If, however, you were to paint the gauges and whatnot, I guess that would be cool. There are a few things you can do while your dash is off, to add SSEi-esque features to a non-SSEi car, and the aluminum cover would probably be a cool way to top off all the work you'd do.

I did it in my old Grand Prix. Not too hard, but not really worth it. I would think it would be overkill given the size of the Bonneville gauge cluster.

There was also someone that did either it..or whiteface recently. After his mechanic flubbed the job.

Overall..our clusters are simple to take apart and work with.

I imagine these things can be painted relatively easily? It might be neat to have the bezel match the body color.

i've actually thought about getting that, and the white backlit peice too. And using them together. I'm not sure how it would look but it might be worth a try.

That sounds like a great idea! I don't think I like the white face alone, or the bezel alone, but both together, and maybe painting the bezel to match your car'* color, or even just black...I think that'd look sharp.

I feel inspired now...it'* that mod bug!
