Default Rain-X as Wax?

Just wondering.. after a nice coat of wax.. and the day after it rained.. I notice that water just flies right off my rain-x'd windshield and I had this crazy idea.. damm.. if it works that well on windshield.. what happens if I coat my whole car like that??

but alas.. there must be some ill affect, just don't know what.. if there'* no ill effect.. I think I'm going to try it

NOOO!!! read the back of the bottle.. I belive it says something like this, "Do not put on anything other than glass"

I think rain-x has their own wax... yes they do... I use it to wax our explorer.

Rain-x contains alcohol which eat away at your clear coat then the paint.

Try that mr clean stuff if your looking for something different and quick?

Well.. yes and no.. I am lookin for something quick cause everytime it rains the bottom gets dirty and I want something that I can use.. was going to just use some water and paper towel to quickly remove the water spots off but wanted something to ensure the wax is still good, but not trap any crap between coats of wax.

Drifter.. they're right... DO NOT USE REGULAR RAIN X as a wax.. it will ruin your paint.

Instead try and find the Rain X WAX.... it just came out (states) but should be up in Canada.... in a year or so..

thanx all.. was just pondering the idea as the water just literally flew off the windows but on the hood even on wax it beads up and rolls off instead.. I wonder how rain X wax would be? Anyone in the States dare try it and let us know?
