What is the proper procedure? I may do my center tail because I cannot stop a water leak and this would be a temporary fix until I get a new one.

Wet sand with high grit? Any other prep?

Don't wetsand first. Just clean it well.

Light even coats across all parts. After the second or third coat, take it into the sunlight and look at it carefully to determine who dark it really is.

There'* like half a dozen topics in the first 4 pages back of this section that all talk about the methods and procedures. But the basics above should keep you safe.

I never do until in between coats of clear. I've never had a set (in 5 years) flake, peel or crack.
