Default Polishing brake calipers???

So, I'm really not wanting to paint my calipers, but instead, I thought of trying to polish them to make them nice and shiny and then maybe clear coating them to make it a little easier to clean. Would this even be possible with the factory calipers? Are they even the right material to produce a high gloss shine if polished? This was just a thought and thought it might be something a little different. Any suggestions?

Joe.

You should be able to clean them pretty well, using a dremel with the wire wheel tool should help give it a nice clean metal look. I don't think you'd be able to get much of a gloss finish, at least not a HIGH gloss. Unless you were able to make the surface very smooth and polish them to death. Try it out and see what happens though. If you don't like it maybe try and paint them silver so they don't stand out too much. See what others have to say and have at it.

They make all different colors of caliper paint. Some places have kits which include everything you'd need (cleaner, brushes, tape, paint...). It'* also pretty easy to keep them clean after you paint them.

Its $70 for both calipers and brackets. If you get them coated this way their will be less of a chance of chipping.

Shipping is probably murder for calipers.
